America’s Sports Artist Rick Rush has woven several monumental moments from the 2012 National Championship game into his painting entitled Absolutely Alabama. At the foreground, runningback and Offensive MVP Eddie Lacy (#42) spins around and breaks through the Notre Dame Fighting Irish defense on a twenty-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the game. From left to right: Barrett Jones (#75), A.J. McCarron (#10), D.J. Fluker (#76), Anthony Steen (#61), Eddie Lacy (#42), and Chance Warmack (#65). The Notre Dame player at the foreground is Manti Te'o.
The middleground of Absolutely Alabama features two vignettes. On the right side, Ha-ha Clinton Dix (#6) intercepts a pass deflected by the hands of Dee Miliner (#28). On the left, the play following the turnover is depicted as Amari Cooper (#9) is seen catching a 34-yard touchdown pass.
In the background of Absolutely Alabama, a mass of Crimson Tide players celebrate Alabama’s 15th National Championship, and gather around Coach Nick Saban as he holds the Coach’s Trophy.
